Event staff
Grant per-event roles — Event manager, Box office, Scanner, or custom — to people by email, including non-users, for one event at a time.
Event staff are the people with access to one event. You manage them under Event settings → Team — the right tool for the helpers who shouldn't see your whole organization: a volunteer scanner, a box-office student, a guest manager for the night.
Granting an event role
Grant a role to anyone by email:
- Event manager — full control of this event.
- Box office — sell and manage orders (no refunds).
- Scanner — check in at the door.
- Any custom event role you've built.
As with members, the person doesn't need a Bookitive account — they get an invitation and accept it. One person can hold several roles on the event; permissions add up.
Who already has access
The Team page also lists organization members who inherit access through their org roles — an org Admin is implicitly an event manager everywhere, so they're shown for clarity rather than re-granted. This prevents the "why can they see this?" confusion: everyone with access, inherited or direct, is visible in one place.
Picking the right role
| You want them to… | Give them |
|---|---|
| Run the whole event | Event manager |
| Sell at the counter, not touch money-back | Box office |
| Only check tickets at the door | Scanner |
| Something specific | A custom role |
Event roles are the privacy-respecting default for outside help — a scanner volunteer literally cannot open your orders, customers, or other events. When someone genuinely needs organization-wide reach, make them a member instead.
