Navigating the app
The two sidebar scopes, the organization and event switchers, the ⌘K search palette, and the shortcuts that make the admin fast.
The Bookitive admin has one shell with two faces: an organization view and an event view. Knowing how they relate makes everything else feel obvious.
Two sidebars, one app
- Organization scope — the sidebar you see on the dashboard. Groups: Main (Dashboard, Events, Orders, Customers, Files, Protection, Audit log), Revenue (Payments, Refunds), and Growth (Sponsors), with Venues and Settings in the footer. The primary button is Create event.
- Event scope — open any event and the sidebar swaps to that event's workspace: Overview, then Sales (Orders, Refunds, Incoming payments, Guest list, Check-in, Waitlist), Setup (Ticket types, Seating plan, Seating setup, Discounts, Emails, Ticket design), Growth (Sponsors, Share & embed), plus ungrouped Files and Audit log, with Event settings in the footer. The primary button becomes Sell tickets — the box office.
Breadcrumbs at the top always show where you are, and the header hosts two switchers: the organization switcher (swap between organizations you belong to, or create another) and the event switcher (jump straight to another event, sorted by status with a status dot).
The sidebar only shows what you can open. Items you lack permission for disappear, and whole groups vanish when every item in them is hidden — so a scanner volunteer sees a very short menu, which is the point. Where you land also adapts: someone with only check-in rights opening an event goes straight to Check-in.
Search everything with ⌘K
Press ⌘K (or click Search… in the top bar) to open the command palette. One query searches your events, orders, customers, and tickets at once — jump to an order by its reference, a customer by name, or a ticket by its code.
Inside an event, the palette scopes itself to that event and shows a scope chip; one click on Search the whole organization widens it. The palette also carries commands — create an event, open an event's check-in or orders — so frequent destinations are two keystrokes away.
Small things worth knowing
- Theme — light and dark mode toggle in the user menu.
- Language — the admin speaks English and Czech; switch it in your account. It also sets the language of emails Bookitive sends to you.
- Unsaved-changes guards — editors with real work in them (the seat editor, ticket design) warn before you navigate away.
