Scanning on mobile

The door screen on iOS and Android — full-bleed camera, torch, manual entry, the verdict card, group check-in, live stats, and scan history.

The app's Scanner is a proper door tool, not a cut-down one — and it works the same way on iOS and Android. It's an immersive dark screen built for a real entrance: a full-bleed camera, a dimmed mask with breathing viewfinder brackets to aim with, and a glass bottom bar with everything you need at the door.

At the door

  • Point and scan — the camera reads ticket QR codes continuously, with the same four verdicts as the web console: valid, already scanned, revoked, not found. The verdict appears as a springy card with the holder, type, and seat.
  • Torch — a one-tap flashlight for dark hallways and dim venues.
  • Manual entry — type a code when a screen's cracked or a printout won't read.
  • Live stats — a progress ring and running counts of who's inside, duplicates, and invalids — synced with every other scanner at the event.
  • Recent scans — pull up the history to see the last admits and spot a problem.

The screen stays awake while you're scanning, and each code has a brief cooldown so the camera re-reading the same QR doesn't double-count anyone.

Group check-in

Scan an order's QR and the roster opens — the whole party, with those still outside pre-selected. Admit them together, or untick the two who went to park the car; re-scan later and the app shows who's already inside. The same group check-in flow as the web, tuned for a phone.

The scanner owns the camera directly, so turning the torch on never interrupts scanning — handy at a dim entrance where you need both at once. One practical note: offline scanning isn't wired in the native apps yet — neither iOS nor Android — so both need a connection at the door. For venues with no signal, the web offline mode is the tool today.
