Orders

The order lifecycle — reserved, paid, cancelled, expired, in review — what each status means for seats, tickets, and money, and the reference that doubles as the payment symbol.

An order is one purchase: the buyer, the items (seats and standing tickets), the money, and the tickets that come out the other end. Everything an order ever does maps to five statuses — understand them and the whole sales side of Bookitive reads like an open book.

How an order is born decides its first status:

  • Pay-now methods — cash, card, complimentary at the box office — create the order already paid: seats sold, tickets emailed, done.
  • Reservation methods — bank transfer and pay-at-the-door — create a reserved order with a payment deadline. Seats are held so nobody else can buy them; when money arrives (or the box office marks it paid), it flips to paid. If the deadline passes, it expires and the seats return to sale — and to the waitlist first, if there is one.

The default reservation hold is 72 hours; you can adjust any single order's deadline in its detail, and the reminder email nudges buyers before it runs out.

The reference is the payment

Every order has a short numeric reference. For bank-transfer orders it doubles as the variable symbol — the payment identifier Czech banks carry on every transfer — which is what lets automatic matching connect incoming money to the right order with certainty. The QR code in the payment email has it prefilled; buyers who type the transfer by hand are asked to include it.

Expiry runs itself

A background sweep expires overdue reservations every minute, around the clock — seats free up, the map updates, the waitlist gets its chance. No morning cleanup, no stale holds. The abandoned-order email can optionally invite the buyer back once their seats are available again.
